ABOUT ME
A senior front-end web developer with 10+ years of experience building best-in-class user experiences. The kind of person that throws themselves into their work. So much so that they would rather spend alot of free time learning how to put together this 3d scene just to make that joke rather than, say do anything that might be considered productive.
SKILLSET
HTML/CSS/JS
10 Years of experience building frontends with HTML, CSS, and JS. From the Dreamweaver days to the modern SPA frameworks, I have built simple landing pages, storefronts with stripe, and complex web apps. And hey, sometimes some good markup and a couple of readable styles are all you need to deliver a great experience.
PROJECTS AND WORKS
American Campus Communties
ACC needed a new website, so we developed a a site that met their needs while updating their branding and giving them multiple themed styles.
Eat Doughy
Eat Doughy was a small vegan cookie dough company that needed a site built for a modest amount that sold their commitment to ingredients and quality. They also needed a custom bundle builder that did not really on finicky or costly Shopify apps, so I built one that used Vue and Shopify scripts.
Echelon
Echelon was a boom company during the pandemic, and need optimal tech and CRO to optimize the millions of customers looking for a Peloton alternative. I owned and operated their storefront and dev team through this period, and built multiple solutions to issues presented by this hyper growth period.
Cozy Earth
Cozy Earth was a high growth brand that needed constant updates and support as they pushed initiatives. Along with maintaining a boutique storefront, they required multiple custom tools that we maintained and built and help sorting inventory and product launches, which I mostly automated for them.
Action Glow
Action Glow needed a quick turnaround to update their PDP for a SharkTank appearance. They needed a custom page for their products that really sold the color changing aspect and showed off the assets that they had invested in. After a week, I would say they got it.
bath buddy
A little app letting you know the answer to a burning question: Am In the bath right now? Using a pi and some waterproofing, anyone one in the world can now see if i am currently soaking my troubles away, and if the water is too cold or hot.
grift
As some one who is great at birthdays, I have never ever forgotten to give some one a gift. But I do feel for those who do, and to those who feel the crushing anxiety of picking a good gift I did gift a AI powered gift idea generator.
Noise Globe
A fun little globe displaying noise levels of people that have used the app.
Echelon Studio
Echelon needed a site for their in person studios, that allowed them to integrate their existing scheduling and trainer systems as well as have custom pages for trainers as they were added and left. This was managed on site by the studio manager, and they needed a fast easy way to edit data, which WordPress and custom pages where suited to.
Humming Brawl
A arcade game where players fight over a hummingbird feeder as, you guessed it, hummingbirds. This a physical machine that existed for a year or two in a downtown bar, until it was removed to make room for a couch. The bar closed shortly after. Coincidence? You can be the judge
Praters PlayOn Decals
PlayOn Decals were a system where you could print logos for use on basketball courts out, and apply them according to NBA/NCAA specs. This basically meant you didn't have to completely repaint a floor in order to change decals, which in a space driven by events was huge. I made the site, as well as the decals, and even built a prototype app that allowed users to upload art and preview it on their court. It also allowed you to submit the filet to be vectorized and would quote the project based on size and number of colors.
baby Blotter
A little present for a little holiday that uses ai generates all the silly police blotter blurbs it can when the police stop supplying local journalist with the sweet sweet juice they need. Using next and supabase, it only builds when new blots are added and uses serverless functions to handle that through google's ai offering.
CAMP DOOM
A ps1 style horror game ( gamelet? experience? ) based on some episodes of Are you Afraid of the Dark i made my wife watch during Halloween.
Flavorless
Flavorless is the premier dance event in the Tennessee river valley. I made their logo and on occasion posters. That is all i did, but i am willing to ride that for as many free covers as i can.
Logos
I've also been a doodler, so after college, I was pretty lucky to find work dooding semi-professionally, making logos and designs for bands. I also did a fair amount of motion graphics due to my film experience. It taught me a lot about contracting and communication, as well as how to use a lot of critically important software like After Effects and Illustrator.
Stickers Galore
The majority of my early twenties were spent inhahling 3m adhesive fumes and doodling little things to hopefully print out on the 10 or so inches of scrap material that would get thrown away otherwise. They still hold a place in my heart.
